Scala is a very good language, I like it very much.
Big data analysis is also very popular recently.
If you are interested, you can use scala for data mining, but now the question comes...

So, as the old saying goes, "If you take it seriously, you will lose." If you think the teacher's opinion doesn't matter and you just want to be serious, then choose a valuable subject - valuable to yourself and valuable to others.
Then do it seriously, design seriously, code seriously, write the paper seriously, defend it seriously,...
After the graduation defense, put the code on github and put the valuable parts of the paper on the sf blog.
Haha, what I wrote above may not be correct. I just imagined it myself, so don’t take it seriously.
As a dropout, I have never written a graduation project or defended it.
Finally, put my github address: https://github.com/justjavac
Personally, I think that for undergraduate graduation projects, you should not consider what technology is used. The key is to be able to make something that is useful and looks like a product. You can consider spending more time on the UI, and the teacher will definitely give you high marks.
Thanks in advance for the invitation.
