python - os.popen的返回对象没有__next__方法，为什么可以调用？

我在使用os.popen方法的时候，返回了一个对象，但是通过dir()查看该方法并没有__next__()方法，然而却成功调用。代码如下：

>>> x = os.popen('ls')
>>> dir(x)
['__class__', '__delattr__', '__dict__', '__dir__', '__doc__', '__enter__', '__eq__', '__exit__',
 '__format__', '__ge__', '__getattr__', '__getattribute__', '__gt__', '__hash__', '__init__',

使用的是python3，请问这是为什么？
