virtual box 安装的ubuntu server 中文显示为方块

virtual box安装 了ubuntu server 12.04，安装时选择的中文，但是安装后从github clone来的代码中的中文注释全是方块，安装网上的方法都没有解决，请问这该怎么办？

It is difficult to support Chinese under console. It is recommended to install openssh-server, and then use xshell/putty/securecrt to connect to it, and it can be displayed normally under tty.

tty1-6 must be filled with squares. Only Terminal used in the desktop environment supports Chinese.
